How Much Does Furnace and Duct Cleaning Cost in Edmonton?

Many people wonder how much does a furnace and duct cleaning cost? Furnace and duct cleaning prices vary by city based on the costs of doing business including fuel, wages, and rent. In Edmonton, Alberta the final cost for a thorough furnace and duct cleaning averages between $250-$500.

Factors That Influence the Cost of Furnace and Duct Cleaning

  1. Size of Your Home
    • The size of your home is the most significant factor in the cost of furnace and duct cleaning. Larger homes with multiple levels will have more vents, and may have more than one furnace. Most companies price by furnace & vent count, which will lead to a higher price for larger homes.
  2. Age of Home
    • The design of heating systems has changed over time with newer homes tending to have more cold air returns than older homes. This means there to be more ducts, and homes with more ducts will have a higher cost for cleaning.
  3. Additional Heating System Components
    • If you have additional components as a part of your HVAC system, there is an additional fee. This may include a Heating Recovery Ventilator (found in most homes built after 2010 in Alberta) or central air conditioning coils. These things add time and work as well as cost.
  4. Exceptional Circumstances
    • If your home has asbestos in the heating systems, you may only be able to get a partial cleaning, which will impact the price.
    • If your home has had a fire or water damage, or there is a severe concern with contamination in ducts, let us know. This might mean we need to use a duct sanitizer or smoke treatment, which is at an additional cost.
  5. When You Want to have the Cleaning Done
    • The demand for furnace & duct cleaning in Edmonton is extremely seasonal, with high demand in the fall as people want to have their cleaning done between September and November. Cost conscious consumers may consider having their cleaning done at another time of year. Then they can take advantage of low season furnace & duct cleaning prices or discounts, especially between December and March.

What Our Customers Have To Say

A big shout out to Andrew and Aaron from Alberta Furnace Cleaning. My husband and I had recently renovated our home and were noticing a fine dust on everything that I couldn’t keep up with. Andrew and Aaron came in and cleaned the furnace, air conditioning unit and all the duct work. It was shocking to see what the found - construction debris, dog toys, tennis balls etc. They definitely have the equipment to thoroughly clean the mechanical and duct work. Both workers used care in removing vent covers, and cleaned all surfaces, properly replacing the grills when done. They were on time, efficient, polite and respectful of ourselves and our home. I could not be happier.

Recently had my furnace cleaning done. The fellas were great! They called ahead of time so I could put the pup outside, they were polite and quick. When they came inside they wore protective booties so they kept the floors clean. They also fixed my dryer lint trap when cleaning out the dryer!! It was missing a screw so the lint was going where it wasn’t supposed to. They also let me know that having both furnace and a/c, my filters should be changed 2x a year - not something I was ever told by furnace install company who “services” my furnace on a paid plan! So Alberta Furnace probably saved me a lot of money and headache down the road. 10/10 would definitely recommend this company and crew. Will definitely use them again.
