Your air conditioning system has two parts – an external and internal unit. We clean the internal unit – the air conditioning evaporator coils that are right above the furnace in the main warm air plenum. We must clean the air conditioning coils to ensure that the the entire system is clean. If we don’t clean the coils, the dust and debris would blow right back in the ductwork.
We do not clean the air conditioning unit outside the home because it is not a part of the ductwork. Manufacturers recommend simply rinsing the external unit with a hose.
The short answer: no.
The long answer: We always guarantee our work. Since the entire HVAC system is connected, we have to clean every part of the system including all vents, furnaces, HRV’s, and yes – the air conditioning. A complete cleaning prevents dust and debris from returning to the cleaned parts of the system and will prevent frequent visits from us (even though we’d love to see you)!
