HVAC Technician Training in Alberta
How Much Training Does Furnace Cleaning Technician Need in Edmonton?
The truth is, furnace and duct cleaning is not a regulated business in Alberta. That means when you call a company to clean your furnace and ducts in Edmonton, there is no standard way to make sure that you are dealing with a company that has the expertise, experience and training to touch your furnace system. At Alberta Furnace Cleaning, for over 30 years, we have been dedicated to providing the best training in the industry, for your trust and safety!
Our industry-leading training program:
NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaning Association) Training & Certification
Alberta Furnace Cleaning is NADCA certified, meaning we adhere to the standards of the National Air Duct Cleaning Association. Our furnace cleaning technicians undergo training as NADCA certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialists (ASCS).
The ASCS certification provides the industry standard level of competency, meaning that your tech can safely and accurately assess your HVAC system and verify its cleanliness and safety. Our furnace tech assistants must also earn their NADCA Ventilation Maintenance Technician (VMT) certification.
Customized NAIT HVAC Technical Course
Alberta Furnace Cleaning in Edmonton has worked with NAIT to develop a custom course providing on-site technical training in the technical aspects of HVAC systems. Our custom training includes in-depth knowledge and hands-on practice with furnace systems, including wiring and electrical training. This level of competency is not required by industry standards, but we provide it as ongoing training and retraining every 12-24 months. Our goal is to provide the highest level of technical expertise you will find in a furnace technician in the Edmonton area.
6 Weeks On-the-Job Training
Our furnace cleaning technicians start as furnace cleaning assistants, gaining at least 6 months of cleaning experience before they enter technician training. In addition to the technical training above, our technicians undergo 4-6 weeks of hands-on training with an experienced technician prior to being sent on their own.
COR Certification
Alberta Furnace Cleaning is COR certified, meaning we have a high level, intensely audited safety system in place to ensure that our technicians are trained in safe working practices, and that they follow a rigorous system of safety checks at every job they perform.
