3 Reasons to Clean Your Furnace Every 3 Years

Maintaining a clean furnace is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your heating system. Here are three compelling reasons to schedule your cleaning every three years (plus check below for the single best way you can avoid these problems!):

1. Dust Accumulation Affects Efficiency Over time, dust and debris build up within your furnace, coating the internal components. This accumulation forces your furnace to work harder, reducing its efficiency. By regularly cleaning your furnace, you ensure it operates smoothly and efficiently, saving on energy costs and preventing unnecessary strain on the system.

2. Prolonging Furnace Lifespan A clean furnace experiences less wear and tear. Dust and dirt can cause blockages in your filters and corrosion on metal components, leading to more frequent breakdowns and costly repairs. Routine cleaning helps to prevent these issues, ensuring that your furnace runs smoothly for many years. Investing in regular maintenance can significantly extend the life of your furnace, protecting your investment.

3. Preventing Fire Hazards Dust and lint are highly flammable. When these materials accumulate in and around your furnace, they can pose a fire risk. Regular cleaning removes this buildup, reducing the chance of a furnace fire.

Regular furnace cleaning is a simple yet vital task to ensure efficiency, longevity, and safety. Schedule a cleaning every three years to keep your heating system in top shape.

The Single Best Action You Should Take To Preserve Your Furnace System

Even before you book your furnace cleaning, you can help mitigate many of the above problems by checking and cleaning or replacing your filters regularly. Your furnace filter should be checked every month, and you should also check and clean your HRV filter and humidifier pad.

Alberta Furnace Cleaning Reviews

A big shout out to Andrew and Aaron from Alberta Furnace Cleaning. My husband and I had recently renovated our home and were noticing a fine dust on everything that I couldn’t keep up with. Andrew and Aaron came in and cleaned the furnace, air conditioning unit and all the duct work. It was shocking to see what the found - construction debris, dog toys, tennis balls etc. They definitely have the equipment to thoroughly clean the mechanical and duct work. Both workers used care in removing vent covers, and cleaned all surfaces, properly replacing the grills when done. They were on time, efficient, polite and respectful of ourselves and our home. I could not be happier.

I recently have my furnace and ducts cleaned. The two technicians were very professional, thorough and careful in their work. They ensure that nothing was missed and that any debris was cleaned up prior to departure. I know it's not the cheapest option out there for duct cleaning, but I went with a cheaper company a few years back and it turns out that company completely missed one of my cool air intake ducts to empty. Alberta Furnace sucked out A LOT of debris missed in that one duct. You get what you pay for and for their price (which is reasonable) you will get top service. 5 stars!

I had Lei and Dillon from Alberta Furnace Cleaning come to my home yesterday and inspect and clean both my furnaces and 25 vents. They both wore booties in my home and laid down blankets to protect my floors and carpets. I was very pleased with the results and now have some peace of mind.
